NASA'southward Curiosity rover has now been exploring Mars for 9 years.

The car-sized robot launched in November 2011 and touched down inside Mars' 96-mile-wide (154 kilometers) Gale Crater on the dark of Aug. 5, 2012. Curiosity has made a number of other intriguing finds during its fourth dimension on Mars.
